Arran Ryder Coffee Concert

Arran Ryder Coffee Concert

At 1:15pm in the Coffee Shop, at another of the weekly ‘Coffee Concerts’ on Wednesday the 18th May, Arran Ryder graced the audience with his beautiful voice, which did, in fact, bring a tear to a couple of the audience’s eyes. He performed three pieces: two of which were simply his voice with a piano accompaniment, and the other was a duet with the Spanish Department’s Mrs Carter. The pieces were all chosen by Arran himself, and the audience were given the impression that Arran was very passionate about the songs that he was singing. It is something that they could easily see him doing in the West End of London one day, and potentially even Broadway! With a concert of three songs only, it is sometimes hard to provide variation in the performances; however, Arran took us from a slow duet in a language other than English, to a musical theatre stage with a more upbeat and jolly song. A very Impressive performance on many levels.

Next week’s Coffee Concert is fifteen minutes of bassoon playing, which I am confident will be of an equally high standard!

Pieces:

Maybe I Like it This Way - Andrew Lippa

I’m Here - Joubert

E Più Ti Penso - Ennio Morricone
