A Social

Located at the heart of the college campus, A Social is extremely lucky to have its own astro turf, which is very popular. Members of A Social are able not only to look out at the perfectly cut Radley pitches with an unbeatable view but also to immerse themselves in the more philosophical thoughts of life in the same building where Sir Andrew Motion’s love of poetry was first kindled. The atmosphere around the Social and interaction between all year groups provides a welcoming and comfortable place to spend five years and, whether enjoying a burger from the barbecue outside on Saturdays in the summer to simply relaxing with a mug of hot chocolate in Cocoa in the winter months, it is a great place to unwind after a long day.

Tom Ryder

Tutor of A Social

TRGR.Ryder@radley.org.uk

I have been Tutor of A Social since 2008, having previously been part of the Pastoral Team. When not in the Social I am to be found in the Art studios where I specialise in teaching sculpture. I’m passionate about coaching Colts Rugby and in the summer indulge in open water swimming with the students. My wife Gail, teaches at New College School in Oxford and we have two teenage children.

Jeremy Dodd

A Social Sub-Tutor

JPJD.Dodd@radley.org.uk

I joined Radley in September 2014 after teaching at a school in Kent. I teach Physics and particularly enjoy astronomy, having completed my university project on exoplanets. Outside of the classroom I enjoy sport and coach rugby, hockey and athletics teams. Before moving into teaching I worked for the educational charity City Year in London. In my spare time I enjoy travelling and a long walk on a Sunday afternoon (especially if there is a good café along the way).

Jane Morgan

A Social Pastoral Housemistress

JEM.Morgan@radley.org.uk

I joined Radley College and A Social in the Lent term of 2013. I had previously worked as a Personal Trainer and fitness instructor in Bristol. I run strength and conditioning classes for boys in A Social, as well as Colts Rugby at School.

I love the special pastoral relationship I have with the boys as a PHM, it is a unique and privileged position.

I have two grown up children called Lauren and Tom.
