On Sunday 17 September, singers from Radley were joined by pupils from 7 other local schools in a close harmony workshop led by a capella supergroup Apollo 5. The day started with a warm-up with all 80 singers - an amazing sound! The singers then split off into 6 groups, with each group containing singers from all 8 schools. The groups, mentored by members of Apollo 5, each learnt a close harmony arrangement which they performed in a brilliant concert at the end of the day to a packed Silk Hall. Songs included Superstition, Skyfall, Stand By Me, For the Longest Time, Beyond the Sea and Swing Low. The concert finished with the whole audience joining in a massed performance, led by conductor Paul Smith. An amazing way to start the musical year at Radley and brilliant to welcome so many singers from across Oxfordshire.
