Design and Technology prepares students to participate in their rapidly changing technological world.
The Design Technology Department has five members of staff and three technicians, and is housed in the Sewell centre alongside the Art department in a purpose built open plan workshop.
Design and Technology is studied by all pupils in the Shell year and takes up four periods per cycle. Pupils follow a broad, balanced course giving them an opportunity to explore a range of ‘design and make’ activities, which encourage them to develop skills and knowledge which better equip them to solve real life problems and make use of the equipment and facilities on offer.
In the Remove and Fifth form pupils can opt to take a GCSE in Design and Technology and subsequently go on to A level.
We will be following:
- GCSE – Edexcel Design and Technology 1DT0
- A Level – Edexcel Design and Technology Product Design 9DT0
Typical courses Design Technology students have gone on to study after Radley include Product Design, Industrial Design, Architecture and Engineering.
