Design & Technology

Design and Technology prepares students to participate in their rapidly changing technological world.

The Design Technology Department has 6 members of staff and 3 technicians and is housed in the Sewell centre alongside the Art department in a purpose built open plan workshop.
Design and Technology is studied by all pupils in the Shell year and takes up 4 periods per cycle. Pupils follow a broad, balanced course covering Resistant Materials, Electronics and an introduction to graphics.

In the Remove and Fifth form pupils have the option to follow one of two courses at GCSE level and we currently offer:
  • Resistant Materials
  • Electronic Products
Subsequently in the Sixth form approximately 15 boys decide to study DT Resistant Material at A level, producing a very wide range of demanding projects.
