Following some hard training, DofE Manager Neil Martin and Leaders Matt Glendon-Doyle and Richard Hughes completed their Diamond Challenge on 19 June 2016.
Starting at 9am the aim was to run one mile for every year that the award has been in operation and the 60 miles became gradually more and more tough.
After an initial 35 lap burst together all three dug-in and battled on. After 3 hours 23 minutes and 57 seconds, 81 laps, 27,000 steps the 60 miles were complete.
Our thanks go to Rosie and Hebe Glendon-Doyle, Kate and Oscar Hughes and Victoria and James Martin for their fantastic support as well as all those who came out to meet us, in particular Dan Pullen who coaxed us round at the halfway point and Paul Fernandez for offering invaluable technical advice.
The challenge’s aim was to raise money to fund DofE places for those in less fortunate circumstances, should you wish to donate, the following website will be receiving donations for a few more weeks.
