Last Thursday, February 2nd, from 8.30-9.15pm in the Coffee Shop, three of Radley’s top Student Investor teams went head to head in an exciting Dragons' Den style competition. The aim was to pitch to the three expert judges Mr Molyneux, Mr Cox and Mr Woodling, and convince them to invest in their team. Each judge had £100,000 of virtual cash to invest in each team of his choice.
Since October, several Radley teams have been running their own virtual stock portfolio, as part of the IFS Student Investor Challenge. Each team presented its investment philosophy and top stock ideas to the Dragons. The three teams were: ‘Out of Stock’ - Gus Cayzer, Sam Tucker, Angus Tufnell and Will Redley; ‘Double or Nothing’ - Cosmo Cotton, Robert Fleming, Alistair Gethin and James Maitland; C Social 6:2s - James Sloan, Arthur Dingemans, Jack Beattie and Kit Marlar.
By the end of the evening after some tough decisions by the Dragons, the final results were Double or Nothing in 3rd, Out of Stock in 2nd and the overall winners of the Radley College Student Investor Cup were C Social 6.2s.
