Despite having to battle sub-zero temperatures and
the occasional blizzard, 56 Radley boys and six dons spent four magical days in
the wilds of Iceland over Leave Away (October 22nd to 25th).
They managed to swim in the Blue Lagoon, go on
a horseback trek, hike on a glacier, delve into lava caves, walk behind a huge
waterfall, watched huge waves crash onto black sand beaches, gaze at a
spouting geothermal geyser and eat some authentic Viking food (sheep head,
dried shark and even whale blubber).
This proved a wonderful trip, which brought Geography
to life, and was enjoyed by all who were present.
