On Wednesday 8th June in the Coffee Shop, escaping the
warm weather for fifteen minutes at 1-15, an audience of sixty enjoyed four
pieces of music sung by and accompanied by Radleians on guitars.
Alastair Gethin took it upon himself both to play the guitar and sing without
any music in front of him, which was particularly impressive. He played two
much quieter songs than the rest of the performers, including Dylan’s ‘Don’t
Think Twice’, but this was more engaging, which the audience enjoyed.
Also performing was Ned Rees alongside Alec
Garrett-Cox (pictured), with Sting’s ‘Fields of Gold’ and Felix Reynish and
Jude Dobby, with Oasis’s ‘Half the World Away’.
Next week’s Coffee Concert includes a piece composed by H Social’s Arran Ryder,
which promises to be equally impressive.
