After another eventful day at the College, a small group of Radleians, gathered together in the Panelled Room to hear what we thought was going to be a Halloween horror, read by none other than Mr Cox. As everyone settled down on their beanbags with their blankets (and some unlucky others on chairs), Mr Cox brought the escapades of a rather odd boy, named Mortimer, from a poor farming family, to life.
Mr Cox, being just as flamboyant, or even more so than Mr May, put on the best voices he could muster, and brought the characters of the story to life, as if we were seeing the sights they did, and also having a little chuckle at the unexpected moments of comedy.
Some felt slightly disappointed that the story was not to be a Halloween horror, but I am quite sure everyone had a great time by the end of it, and I cannot wait until the next Jackanory.
