Photographed above: Radley crew at the finish line.
On Friday 1st July, the 1st VIII rowed against Melbourne Grammar School in the semi-finals of the Princess Elizabeth Challenge.
The crew had a good start, but Melbourne attacked early and unfortunately gained a length lead. The Radley crew tried to claw back the deficit and pushed hard in the middle of the race, but despite the crew's best efforts the were held at bay by the Melbourne crew.
A strong sprint for the finish line saw the Radley VIII close to within three quarters of a length, but it was just not enough. Well done to the crew on a very good Henley campaign in what is an extremely competitive year.
A big thank you to all those who came along and gave the crew such incredible support over the three days.
