Last night saw the second round of intense inter-social chess matches with F social playing D, and E social playing C. A tense atmosphere encapsulated the room as the games got underway and the first result, a decisive victory by Harry Glassey, saw F social take the lead. Freddie Sholarin, captain of the E social, led his team to victory also winning his match comfortably on board three while Christoph Wallendahl found his job slightly more tricky than expected when pitted against Henry Roskill on board one of his section. Nonetheless, a hard fought victory by Christpoh saw F social through to the next round of what is shaping up to a be an exciting competition.
