Once the final fixtures against MCS had been played it was the turn of the Inter Social Hockey.
The Junior competition consisted of two groups of five. Each team playing each other once. B and K Social progressed from their group in 1st and 2nd respectively with C and E Social making it through in their group. The semi finals were close fought affairs and despite an early lead for E Social, B Social ran out 4-2 winners. K v C Social was closer still with a 5-4 score line, C Social almost doing enough to force extra time. The final was dominated by B Social and they won 2-0 with captain Phillip Barnett putting in a commanding performance.
The senior competition followed a different format. Due to a lack of hockey players in A & F Social. They joined forces and put on a spirited display as Socials were split into three groups of 3. B and K Social won out in their groups (they played each other twice) with H Social winning a tighter group against G Social who progressed to the semi finals as best runner up. H Social beat B Social 2-1 in a semi final that could have gone either way before G Social shocked K Social. 4-0 up at one point, they hung on as K Social fought back to win 5-3. The final was a high quality affair with Cunningham and Todd pulling the strings for G Social against four 1st XI players in H Social. With the score all square at 2-2 a lovely passing move saw H Social move ahead with 3 minutes left. A fourth goal a minute later then sealed the trophy for them. H Social were superbly led by their captain Jamie Farr.
Congtaulations to the winners:
H Social won 4-2 against G Social in the Senior Comp. Captain for H Social, Jamie Farr.
