At the Warden’s Assembly on Wednesday 7th September, Hamish Wishart, Head of K Social received the Smale Casket on behalf of K Social. It is an award for outstanding academic achievement, taking into account the public exam results of last year's Fifth Form and 6.2 year groups, academic prizes awarded, distinctions and copies earned in the year by all boys.
Hamish Wishart, Head of K Social, commented on receiving the award on behalf of K Social:
"When the Warden announced that K had won the Smale Casket it was a very proud moment for all the boys and staff involved. Collecting the award on behalf of the Social was one of the best events in my time at Radley. We must give our credit to the Vth form and VI.2 for their incredible results in the summer. Their hard-work, along with the other years, was defined by the distinctions, prizes and copies we earned throughout the year. I give thanks to Rupert for the way he led the boarding house last year, and my congratulations to Mr. Lee for the way he created a fantastically positive atmosphere around the boarding house. This has now set the benchmark for all of us and I know K social can achieve as much and more in the future."
Commenting on setting the tone for a healthy working enviroment, Chris Lee, K Social Tutor, said:
"Of course this is a significant, collective, achievement but no small amount of the credit must go to the boys at the top of the boarding house. Under the leadership of Rupert Milne, they set the tone for a healthy working environment that enabled many Vth form and VI.2 boys to exceed expectations over these past twelve months."
Well done, also, to B Social who came second and to C Social for third place.
