This summer, Tom and I thought about the sports kit which we have grown out of or no longer use. We had the idea of sending this unused kit to those less fortunate than ourselves. We chose Kenya because we already had a link with Edclub (a skyping platform encouraging pupils from schools around England to help educate Kenyan children) and so we got in touch with Alice Macaire, the founder of Edclub, to pitch the idea and work out the logistics of it all. We initially decided to send out all kit but realised this would be too much, so we decided to concentrate solely on boots as these are the rarest and least supplied commodity. The project was a total success. We have 10-15 large bags of football boots, an estimate of 400 pairs of boots! Thank you to everyone who donated. Your boots will be greatly appreciated by the children.
