Library & Archives
Resources
The Library has a main collection of 40,000 books covering all curriculum areas, as well as leisure and cultural activities, and subscribes to around sixty newspapers and journals. In addition to an extensive English fiction section, there is also contemporary literature in French, German and Spanish, as well as other languages.
The Library also produces recommended reading and subject guides and teaches Information Literacy skills.
Library management systems are fully automated using OLIVER from Softlink Europe. The database is available throughout the school over the intranet. It records around 12,000 loans a year.
Music and Film
Classical, jazz and contemporary music is provided by a collection of 2,000 CDs, with the Library also holding 5,000 print scores for teaching and performance.
There is a collection of around 2,000 DVDs covering all types of film including classics of the silent era, foreign language films in French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Russian and more, a children’s collection, and contemporary TV series and blockbusters.
Online resources
The Library subscribes to a wide range of online resources, including JSTOR, the NewsBank newspaper archive, Naxos Music, the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography and the Oxford English Dictionary.

Special Collections
The special collections include printed material relating specifically to the School and its members, early printed books and manuscripts and the Archive of documents and unpublished records of the School.
Careers Centre
There is an extensive Careers Centre with university prospectuses, Gap Year information, careers guidance, books on interview techniques and CV writing, and software. It also functions as the headquarters for the Duke of Edinburgh scheme.
Department Libraries
The Library also administers extensive specialist collections in the Art and Classics Departments.
