The Mathematics Department at Radley is large. There are nine full-time teachers and four part-timers, generously housed in Queen’s Court.
In the Lower School all boys take the Edexcel higher tier IGCSE, with many sitting this exam either five terms or three terms early. Boys in the accelerated streams then go on to sit either a full AS level, or at least some AS modules, at the end of the Fifth Form.
In the Upper School, again with Edexcel, boys are prepared for Maths, Further Maths and Additional Further Maths A levels. The numbers vary from year to year, but we usually cater for between 60 and 70 boys in both lower and Upper Sixth, with about 25 taking the Further Maths option. Further Maths also supports a large number of Oxbridge applications.
