Music

Classroom music is taught to all boys in the Shell year (one lesson each cycle) and is then offered as an academic option through to University entrance. In the Remove pupils may opt to take a two-year GCSE course (Edexcel) and are taught in mixed ability groups (four lessons each cycle). In the Sixth form Music at AS and at A2 (Edexcel) is offered (nine lessons each cycle). Skills developed in the classroom are nurtured outside the classroom through individual instrumental and vocal lessons, instrumental and vocal ensembles, workshops with professional musicians including our resident artists The Bingham String Quartet, Departmental Outings and concert visits to both Oxford and London.
