Old Radleians and Parents Abroad

As we are planning events in 2001 in the USA, Australia and France, we thought you might be interested to see the distribution of ORs and friends of Radley in these countries. If you would like to be put in touch with other ORs in your area, do contact Paul Tucker in the Foundation Office at Radley.

North America
I am pleased to be able to tell you that there are to be receptions in Boston, Los Angeles and New York during 2001. Charles Hastings, who has been a don at Radley for 23 years and will be known to many of you, is planning a sabbatical term this autumn and will be in Boston in mid-September (probably around the 20th) and then in Los Angeles for a few days from 17th October. I hope to be in Los Angeles at the same time as Charles, where Marshall Rutter and his wife have kindly agreed to host a reception. Charles will then go on to Australia and I will travel to New York, to meet up with the Warden and his wife, Liz, where there will be a reception sometime during the week beginning 22nd October. We will let all ORs in the US have the dates and details of these receptions as soon as they are finalised and hope to see as many of you as possible.

Australia
As mentioned above, Charles Hastings, is planning to visit Australia during his sabbatical term this autumn. Sometime during November and December, there will be receptions in both Sydney and Melbourne when he will be able to tell you about the School today. As soon as the dates are finalised, we will write to all ORs in Australia to let you know in case you can be in one of those places at the right time.

France
We are planning to hold a dinner in Paris on Monday 25 June for those of you living in France. Jonathan Eastwood, who was at Radley between 1963 and 1966 and is a long time resident of Paris, has very kindly agreed to take care of the organisation on the French side.
