Membership

Radley wet-bobs automatically join the club as full members on leaving the College. Parents are invited to become Associate Members from the second year of their sons’ membership of RCBC.

Objective

The purpose of the Mariners is to support all aspects of Radley College Boat Club

This is achieved by:

  1. Being the shared forum for ORs and Parents to advance rowing at Radley.
  2. Providing support and counsel to the management and coaches of RCBC.
  3. Providing financial support (directly or via the Radley Mariners Charitable Trust) for those facilities or activities that are not supported by the College.
  4. Welcoming and engaging current parents into active support of rowing by publishing a newsletter – RCBC News, organising social events and managing the Fly the Flag programme.
  5. Representing the rowing point of view to College Council, Warden, Bursar and other College senior management.

Full members are entitled to wear the Mariners Tie

and Associate members the RCBC tie.

Both can be purchased from the College Shop.

Club Finance & Management

Each year a wet-bob’s parents will pay one fifth of their son’s life-time membership of the Mariners.

Associate and full-members who wish to receive RCBC News and other services pay an annual subscription (currently £30) to the Radley Mariners Charitable Trust

The day to day running of the Radley Mariners is the responsibility of the Executive Committee. It implements the policy decisions of the club’s Committee represent ORs and parents

Old Radleian Rowing

Most ORs that carry on rowing after they leave Radley, do so for their college, university or club crews. Occasionally a group of ORs decide to form a crew; if they wish to receive support from the club they should contact the President in the first instance.

Individual ORs who need financial help with training or travel costs connected with university, national or international level rowing should contact the Radley Mariners Charitable Trust.
