What is the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is a key part of Radley's overall development effort. Major gifts, legacies and regular giving are all vital to the Radley Foundation, the charitable fund established to ensure a sound future for the College. The Annual Fund is an opportunity for the entire Radley community to contribute to the life of the school, with immediate beneficial effect. Each year gifts from current parents, Old Radleians and friends of the College will be spent according to their wishes.

A Tradition of Generosity
Radley is a successful school. We are proud of our reputation, the achievements of our boys and the contribution of Old Radleians to every walk of life. Our beautiful surroundings and striking buildings are treasured by the whole school community. However, despite these gifts, Radley is not a richly endowed school.

Without the considerable generosity of preceding generations, Radley could not afford to provide all that it does for today’s pupils. Unlike many other prominent public schools, we have a limited endowment to provide for future needs. Carefully managed fee income does not cover all we would like to do, nor all we wish to accomplish in the future. We aim to provide outstanding facilities and to enrich all aspects of academic, sporting and cultural life at the College. We also want to extend the possibility of a Radley education to able boys regardless of circumstances through an enhanced bursaries programme. To do all of this, we must build a firm financial base for this great educational establishment.

Why does Radley need regular giving?
In the short and medium term, Radley needs regular giving to provide additional funds to enhance the quality of the education we provide. Your gift to the annual fund helps us to plan the distribution of funds for the coming year, creates an available resource for current priorities and supports crucial bursary funding. It also encourages a tradition of regular giving at every level which strengthens the whole Radley Foundation.

How are gifts to the Annual Fund used?
Each year, fundraising targets will be set for the various purposes. Donors can choose where their gifts will be spent or allow the Trustees of the Foundation to allocate donations on their behalf. Wherever a specific request has been made, donations will be earmarked for those projects.

How do I give?
To enable you to give whatever amount you wish, you can make a single annual gift or spread payments over the year. Simple details on the enclosed form are all that is needed to participate in the Fund. A Gift Aid declaration is included which will maximise the value of every donation. For every £100 donated, Radley can currently claim an additional £28 from the government. If you are a higher-rate taxpayer you will also be able to claim back 18% of your gift from the Inland Revenue.
