After a strong 2017 season with a Nations Cup Team place, reserve for European Championships and several International Podiums, Angus Corrie-Deane, 6.2 has just received a letter to confirm that he has been selected for the prestigious Excel Talent Programme, supported by British Equestrian Federation and part of Sport England. The letter explains the 'Excel Talent Programme'. Embedded into the equestrian talent pathway, this programme helps to identify and nurture up-and-coming riders who demonstrate potential to win medals in the future within the Olympic and Paralympic disciplines: dressage, para-dressage, eventing and show jumping. The Programme is designed primarily for adults with a full-time career with horses and so Angus now needs to balance the commitment to this 2 year programme with the rigours of A Level and University entry.
Commenting on his success, Angus said: “I am delighted that my partnership with Tiny Tempur has gained this fabulous recognition and the opportunity it brings. I am conscious that it is a team effort and thank my parents and Radley for having supported me all the way. It’s a bit like Formula 1 where the jockey takes the credit, but it’s all the training, the continuous improvements and the attention to detail that makes the difference between success and coming second."
