On Monday 14th, several 6.1 and 6.2 Hispanists were fortunate enough to attend a King’s College London production of Lorca’s ‘The Blood Wedding’.
Having arrived safely into Paddington, the boys made their way to Embankment via the tube. The excited boys sat down and braced themselves for the performance ahead.
The Narrators started off the play in English, however the remainder of the play was spoken in Spanish and occasionally in Portuguese. Although nobody understood much of the Portuguese, the story was very entertaining. The acting by the students at KCL was very impressive, in particular the Moon and the Bridegroom. The Spanish spoken by the students was also very convincing, seeing as the majority were not themselves Spanish. Hopefully, many of those attending learnt from the Spanish spoken there and aspire to reach such a high standard.
On behalf of all those who attended, I would like to thank Mr. Sumner and Mrs. Porter once again for a wonderful evening.
