The British Exploring Society

On Wednesday the 7th October, Teddy Watson (the Chairman of the British Exploration Society) and Beau Zilesnik (an assistant team leader) came to talk about British Exploring in the Coffee Shop. The first half of the talk consisted of Teddy Watson explaining how our generation will face increasing worldwide competition for jobs and universities. He said that over 90% of Oxford University Said Business School applicants are now from overseas.

The second half was presented by Beau, who was talking about British exploring and the events coming up for the summer of 2016 and 2017. This summer, British Exploring are hosting two events. One to the Peruvian Rainforest and one to the Himalayas. Both were incredibly interesting and offered an 'out of the comfort zone' adventure. While on these trips, Beau explained that the participants would be involved with scientific work like finding new/old species and labelling them, as well as building bio-gardens with local charities.
