Wags' 100th Term at Radley

Wags' 100th Term at Radley

On the evening of Tuesday 23rd January there was a surprise champagne reception in Common Room to celebrate Wags' 100th term at Radley. Wags started at Radley in January 1985, and has overseen 33 cricket seasons (many of which in concert with Bert Robinson) as well as being the sports administrator for the college for his time at Radley. His cricket successes for RCCC (both county and international) are well-documented, of course, but Niall Murphy also drew attention to his organisation of RCRUFC, RCAFC and RCHC as well. Wags has seen off countless opposition MiCs and pros, Radley groundstaff, 5 Radley MiCs Cricket and three Wardens thus far in his illustrious career.

In his 33 years here at Radley Wags has also coached rugby and hockey to the highest level, and remains the model cricket professional  (exemplified by his willingness to book in early morning sessions fot the boys for one-on-one sessions). Our congratulations go to Wags for his 100th term, and also to Dennis Silk for his foresight in appointing him!
