Chapel
Chapel is central to the life of the College and is always open. All boys attend a shortened Evensong on three days each week, with a congregational hymn singing practice every Friday. On Sundays, there is a Sung Eucharist to which parents and guests are always welcome. This service begins at 10.00am.
The Chapel was built by the Oxford architect, Sir Thomas Jackson, in 1897 and replaced an earlier building which dated from the foundation of the College.
In 1995, the collegiate seating was rearranged in order to accommodate more people, and the west end wall and panelling were moved back some eight feet in to the ante-Chapel area to make even more room. Similarly, the number of seats in the gallery were increased by another sixty and new lighting added there and, indeed, thoughout the whole Chapel.
In addition to the usual weekday and Sunday arrangements, the Eucharist is celebrated on Saints' Days (as in the Calendar) at 8.00am in the Chapel of the Resurrection.
Radley College Christian Forum meets every Tuesday in term time - see link in left hand menu. Parents may also be interested in Radley Parents' Prayer Group. This group meets at 11am before each Half Term and Exeat to pray for the Christian ministry at Radley in H Social Tutor's house. All are welcome. Please contact the Chaplain (dw.wilson@radley.org.uk) if you would like more information.
