Radleian Society

What is the purpose of the Radleian Society?
The Radleian Society is the focus by which all Radleians and friends of Radley can maintain their links with the School and with each other around the world. It exists to support the school, Radleians past and present, and the many people to whom Radley means so much.

Who can join the Radleian Society?
For a small additional charge on each term's bill, a boy becomes a life member of The Radleian Society.  While the boy is at Radley, his parents receive all the publications and invitations to events. When the boy leaves, if his parents wish to have their own independent membership of The Radleian Society, they can do so by becoming an Associate Member for a one off fee of £250.
Information for New Members

What are the benefits of joining the Radleian Society?
In return for your subscription, we will send you copies of the Old Radleian once a year (and the current school magazine, The Radleian as well, if you like) and copies of our newsletter, Lusimus, twice a year. We will invite you to the growing number of social and cultural events, taking place annually at Radley, around the UK and also overseas. These include dinners, receptions, concerts, wine-tasting evenings and art exhibitions.

Is it possible for Old Radleians to visit Radley?
You are most welcome to visit at Radley at any time of the year. The OR office is open throughout the year, including summer holidays. If you would like to visit, please contact Jock Mullard, for further details. We can even arrange for you to stay the night at Radley (click here for further details).

What do you do with the data you hold on me?
Information gathered by the Radleian Society and the Radley Foundation is kept on a database, which can be accessed by the Radleian Society and the Radley Foundation only. Data is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and is used only for creating closer links between the School, OR Clubs & Societies, fellow ORs and other members of the Radley family (eg parents), some of whom may reside outside of the European Union. The Radley Foundation may also use the information for fundraising purposes. We will not publish your details without your consent nor do we sell our data to third parties for commercial purposes.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact our Database Manager, .

Could I have an address list of all those in my year group/area?
To comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, you would need to request such a list in writing to .

Please state your full name, address, year of entry, Social at Radley as well as the reason why you would like the list (e.g. to organise an event or because you are visiting, or moving to, a particular area and would like to see whether there are any local ORs to visit).

If we send you a list, you must agree to use it for that purpose only and to strictly maintain the confidential nature of the information. The details given will only be from those that have returned an Information Form and who have not requested that we do not give out their details.

Can you help me contact one of my old contemporaries?
Yes. Please visit the OR Online Contacts section of our website.

Publications

What is a Radley Information Form?
The Radley Information Form is sent out to all Old Radleians in March and to parents in October on an annual basis, so that we can maintain an accurate mailing list and database. Click here for further details.

When is the next Yearbook coming out?
Since the Data Protection Act of 1998, we are unable to publish addresses of ORs unless we have their consent. As it is unlikely that we will ever obtain everyone's permission, we will no longer be publishing a Yearbook. However, we will endeavour to help you contact ORs where we can through the contacting ORs section of this website.

When is a new Register coming out?
We have had a positive response to the 2000 Radley Information Form question on whether ORs would like to see an updated version of the Radley Register. Publishing a complete history of every OR for the last hundred years or so is a huge task. Please see Jock Mullards answer in Lusimus Issue 4 for further details. In the meantime, we are publishing ORs' "News and Notes" as part of the Old Radleian magazine.

How can I submit an entry for the Old Radleian News and Notes supplement?
There is a special section for you to use on the Radley Information Form, which is sent out annually in March. Please note that submissions need to have reached us by the end of June for inclusion in that year's Old Radleian.

Networking

Can you put me in touch with someone in another profession whom I can talk to about their career?
We can. Click here for further details.

Can you help me to advertise my business to other ORs?
Whilst we will not give out OR addresses or do any mailings to Old Radleians for such a purpose, we can publicise your business website free of charge on this website in the Business Directory section.

How do I join an OR Club or Society?
Each club or society section has the organiser's contact details displayed. Please contact them for further details.

How can I set up a new OR Club or Society?
Contact Jock Mullard for further information.
