Sport Roundup

Rackets

  • James Male beat Jonathan Larken 15/6,15/11,15/3,15/1 at Queens Club in January to retain his World Championship by five games to four.
  • Mark Hubbard lost in the Final of the British Professional Championship in February.
  • In the National Schools Championships in April Hackett & Jeans lost in the final of the Colts Doubles while Monbiot & Bellhouse and Dance & Roupell lost in the semi-finals of the Elite and Junior Colts events.

Rowing

  • Tom Parker (stroke) and Nick Ford (cox) were in the Oxford Brookes crew which won Senior 2 Eights and was the fastest student crew at the Head of the River. They beat Paddy Thomas's Durham University crew by half a second.
  • Ashton Shuttleworth was the highest placed Old Radleian, rowing for London Rowing Club finishing 12th overall.
  • Sam Milward rowed for Nepthys, the Oxford Lightweight reserve crew.
  • Henry Morris rowed for Oxford (see article here).
  • Sam Parker rowed for Isis.
  • Tom Barry and Tom Cadoux-Hudson rowed for Oxford in the Veterans Boat Race, beating Cambridge by 2 lengths. Also on board was Andrew Gordon-Brown who is coming to teach at Radley in September.
