Most of the articles required for a new boy's outfit can be obtained from College Shop and parents are advised to visit Shop with their sons. To avoid congestion, please make an appointment with the managers, Gordon and Jan Calland, (Telephone 01235-543108 or email shop@radley.org.uk) to coincide with your visit to your son's Tutor. Please note that shop closes on the last day of the Summer Term for the annual stock take, so it is helpful if you can arrange your visit as soon as possible after your son has been accepted.

(For boys living abroad and unable to visit in the Summer Term Shop will be open on the Monday and Tuesday before the beginning of the Michaelmas Term and the Monday and Tuesday following the end of the Summer term. This is for fittings only. Orders may also be placed by telephone before the end of the Summer Term. Shop is closed over the Summer holidays.)

Because all clothes are laundered in the school laundry it is essential everything is well marked. The Shop now automatically orders, for all new boys, an adequate supply of woven name tapes, with name and initials in block capitals, and including the Social letter. All clothing purchased in the Shop will have name tapes sewn on at no extra charge and will be waiting in a boy's Social when he arrives on the first day of term.

Parents who purchase clothes elsewhere should ensure that they are suitable for machine washing (40˚C) and tumble drying. Hand washable items cannot be laundered at school. There is a dry cleaning service for suits, gowns, jackets etc for which there is an extra charge. There is no extra charge for laundry, the cost of which is included in the basic fees.

Shop also has a limited supply of second-hand clothing, principally suits, blazers, grey trousers, and shirts.

In order to minimize overheads parents are requested to settle their Shop account within ten days. Shop does not have the facility to accept payment by credit card. Once a boy is at Radley goods purchased from Shop will be charged on each term's account unless instructions to the contrary are received.

Any profits arising from the Shop are used for the benefit of the College.

Linen: All undersheets and pillowcases are provided by Radley. Boys bring their own duvets together with two covers of their own choice.
Trunks: soft luggage, not a trunk, should be used to bring a boy's belongings back to school. In addtion, all boys need a holdall for use at Leave-Away, Privilege Weekends and away matches.
'Jam', Telephone and other credit arrangements: An authorisation slip for these will be given to you. These permit a boy to purchase 'tuck' and telephone cards from Shop up to the agreed credit limit. The actual expenditure will then be included on the account at the end of each term. The limit given at the start of the first term will automatically be entered onto J/A for each subsequent term.
Stationery, toiletries and other smaller items can be purchased on credit, but clothing and more expensive items may only be purchased on credit if authorised by a chit signed by a boy's Tutor or by email to shop@radley.org.uk giving parents permission.
