FOUNDATION AWARDS for 2009 at 11+, 13+ and 16+
Successful candidates will be supported financially by Radley College; the extent of the award will be determined by means testing.
Candidates should be academically able and ideally possess other talents
e.g. musical, artistic or sporting.
Candidates at 11+
- Candidates applying for entry to prep school in 2009 (Radley 2011) should be born between 1st September 1997 and 31st August 1998.
- They will be required to sit papers in English and Maths at Radley. Questions set will be based on National Curriculum content, but are also designed to reveal literary and mathematical potential. Papers will each be of one hour duration. Candidates will also be interviewed on the day of their exams. In addition musical boys will have an audition and an aural test; artistic boys should provide examples of their work.
- They should generally expect to attend prep school for two years prior to moving to senior school; choice of prep school will be discussed with parents of successful candidates who will then be able to visit a short list during the Lent term prior to making a choice.
- They would be expected to sit the 13+ open academic, music or art award for entry to Radley. A new means test form would need to be completed at this stage.
- Entrance exams will take place on the morning of Saturday November 29th 2008.
- Applications close on November 3rd 2008.

Candidates at 13+

- Candidates currently attending a maintained school will be required to sit papers in English and Maths at Radley. Questions set will be based on National Curriculum content, but are also designed to reveal literary and mathematical potential. Papers will each be of one hour duration. Candidates will also be interviewed on the day of their exams. In addition musical boys will have an audition and an aural test; artistic boys should provide examples of their work.
- Entrance exams will take place on the morning of Saturday November 29th 2008.
- Applications close on November 3rd 2008.
- Candidates who are attending a prep school will be expected to take the Radley Scholarship in March please see the Scholarship leaflet for application deadlines.

Candidates at 16+
- Those applying for 16+ awards for entry to Radley in 2009 should be born between 1st September 1992 and 31st August 1993
- Candidates will be asked to nominate two subjects they wish to take at A Level in the 6th Form at Radley. One hour scholarship papers will be sat at Radley in these two subjects, their content based on GCSE work. Candidates will also sit an IQ test and be interviewed by the Warden, Sub Warden and a Head of Department. Musical boys will also have an audition and an aural test; artistic boys should provide examples of their work.
- Entrance exams will take place on November 18th/19th 2008.
- Applications close on October 31st 2008.
For all candidates Radley will request a report from the boy’s current school after the closing date for applications
Parents are encouraged to meet the Warden and have a tour before entry tests take place. They should contact the Registrar to make the necessary arrangements.
Award holders will be allocated to Socials at Radley by the Warden.
