Home
Radley has become the best supported club on the river largely through our “Fly the Flag” programme. We organise support by trying to arrange that as many parents as possible (along with friends and relations) come to regattas to cheer on their sons.

Support of our crews is absolutely vital and a very important contribution to the success of the Boat Club at Heads and Regattas.

The focal point at each event will be the small Radley marquee or the Radley Maltese Cross will be flying. To ensure that supporters get the maximum enjoyment from watching rowing, we arrange that at each event a Mariner (Old Radleian oarsman) or one of the Year Group Leaders, will be there to answer questions or coordinate the support for a crew. (See list below)

Parents who become Associate Members of the Mariners (the OR Boat Club) are entitled to:

  • receive RCBC News published about 12 times a year and almost every week during the summer term
  • receive the supporters contact directory published early in the Summer term

To get maximum pleasure from supporting your son please read the Supporters' Information section – it is packed with loads of useful and practical information.

Social Events

On various occasions throughout the year we hold social gatherings where you can meet other parents, coaches and Old Radleians. These can include the following:

  • J14 day for new wet-bob parents at Radley in May
  • J14 Drinks on the Friday of the National Schools Regatta at Nottingham in May
  • Radley Mariners Annual General Meeting and lunch at Radley usually during the Michaelmas term

In addition we organise occasional events like Boat Club Dinners to celebrate key events.

Some are self-financing and all are great fun. Invitations come with the RCBC News or are posted directly to parents and Mariners.
