We have an excellent opportunity for a Head of Physics to join us from January 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a successful and innovative department within a friendly and collegiate school community. The department currently comprises six specialist teachers; there is significant shared teaching experience, a real depth of subject knowledge in the team and the atmosphere is trusting and supportive. All current members of the department are graduates in Physics or Engineering; each teaches the full age-range (from Year 9 up to A level), and across all abilities.

We pride ourselves on the breadth and excellence of our teaching. Physics has a very good reputation within the school; it is thought by boys to be challenging, exciting and relevant, and our A-Level take-up reflects this.

We have high expectations of all students and we support them to achieve their potential. An experienced Head of Physics or Teacher of Physics seeking a move into a strong department will find there is plenty of opportunity for responsibility and career development.

Radley College is committed to the highest standards of professionalism and quality in our teaching, and can provide opportunities for teacher training and development. We have an increasingly diverse pupil intake and we are looking to increase diversity within our Common Room. We therefore encourage and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Some of our staff had taught in independent schools before, others had not.
