Victoria Fletcher is a landscape and still life painter working primarily in oils on canvas. She works in her garden studio in the country and en plein air to create expansive, dynamic paintings deeply rooted in experience and memory.

“Often, because I do not want to lose the immediacy of the moment, I will just paint it straightaway. I don’t do a sketch beforehand, I just want to get that feeling straight on the page, using the brushstroke as a mark that goes with the feeling. To me it’s about being in that moment and how I respond to what is in front of me. I suppose I am trying to express the thrill of seeing something grow, blossom and bloom, of reaching towards the light and coming to life.”

Victoria’s online gallery can be viewed here.

The exhibition will run from 27 September to 17 October 2024.
