On last week’s 6.2 Politics trip to Washington D.C. and New York, the boys were able to enjoy talks from Lauren Vicary and Navin Nyack from the thinktank Center for American Progress, the College’s former Academic-In-Residence Professor Adam Sheingate, speechwriter Ben Hatt OR (H, 2004), Deputy Counsel at Genel Energy Jamie Dykes OR, Economist editor Oliver Money OR, Ambassador Paul Jones, and Freedom Richardson – the current Director of Operations at the US House of Representatives. The trip also included visits to the National Mall, the Arlington Cemetery, the Iwo Jimo War Memorial, a college basketball game, two Ice Hockey games (one in Madison Square Garden), a Broadway Musical, and the One World Trade Center.

Head of Politics Rob McMahon later said, “The trip success was testament to how well Mr Lawson, Head of Sixth Form can organise, and how well the dons can manage 54 students. But we must note that it is always the boys who make the trip the success it was.”
