The Cadet Corps was formed in the summer term, 1909. Since then, it has been an integral part of the Radley experience, teaching important lessons in leadership, teamwork, and how to properly clean a pair of muddy boots.

One of the regular highlights was the deployment of the single-seat glider. This was powered by a long, rubberised catapult. A good flight lasted under 10 seconds and often ended by a collision with a barbed wire fence or brambles. We all survived relatively unscathed.
