Tuesday saw a group of students depart for Wycombe Abbey for the annual Medical Lecture Competition. Two students from each school spoke on their chosen topic, with judgements made by a panel including Medics. Cayden (V, A Social) and Mustafa (6.1, E Social) had been selected from a number of strong presentations to represent Radley.
We are delighted that Cayden and Mustafa secured first and second place, respectively, for their fluent presentations on “CRISPR-Cas9 and the Medical Impact of Genetic Engineering” and “The Algorithm Will See You Now: Digitisation in the NHS.” Dr Adewole, who presented the awards, likened their talks to the calibre of those delivered by medical colleagues. Cayden’s win was all the more impressive, as he is in the Fifth Form, competing mostly against 6.2 students. This marks Radley’s sixth win since the competition’s inception in 2011.
We look forward to hosting the competition next year and hope to hold onto the title!
