Sunday saw 23 teams from all over the South west of England gather at Radley for the last open competition of the 2026 UK robotics season.
A heady day of teamwork, skills and judged competition saw unqualified teams fight it out for the last few places at the National Championships. Four Radley teams took part, from Shell, Remove and 6.1 and the Barker Gym was abuzz with motors and team talk for the whole day. Judge volunteers from UKAEA and other technology companies helped interview and award prizes for Design, Innovation and Excellence, alongside the direct competition for Teamwork and skills. We’re also grateful to volunteer referees from the Vex community and it was super to see ORs from one of last year’s World’s qualifying teams, Icarus, helping out on the skills field too. A super day for all and skills performances on the day mean that our Remove team, 84899F Crissy and a 6.1 team, 84899H Noctus have qualified alongside the 6.2 team 84899D Ibex who qualified in Michaelmas to compete for a Worlds place at the Nationals in Telford at the end of the month.
