This week we are celebrating Radley’s Partnerships Week – in 2024/2025, College boys spent 4330 total hours delivering partnership support for schools and local organisations, these collaborations thriving on mutual benefit and collective commitment. Today, we highlight the story of Frank (V,C) and the lessons he as a Radley student has learned from partnerships:
“This year, I’ve been working with two students from Broadway Academy as part of the Future Ready Programme. We’ve spent time together going to lessons and sharing parts of our school days. At first, it’s a bit awkward – you’ve only just met and don’t really know what the other person’s into or what to talk about. But as you get to know each other, you find loads of shared interests.
“A real turning point for me as visiting Broadway and experiencing their school environment and daily routines. I hadn’t realised how central religion was to their day – the number of times they pray, and how on Fridays they all come together in the sports hall, which turns into a mini mosque for a short time during lunch. You learn what’s respectful to say, and that builds real understanding and empathy.
“It’s important to have these deeper conversations. For the boys involved who give their time, it’s really beneficial… having groups from both schools working together and getting to know each other is valuable. Seeing these similarities is something I’ll carry with me, not just at Radley but wherever I go.”
